GREAT BAY—Authors Edgar and Julian Lynch left here on March 23 for St. Eustatius in what amounts to the second leg of a mini-regional tour to promote their new book Know Your Political History.
Politician Nora Sneek-Gibbs will organize the book’s reception and promotion in St. Eustatius. Last week’s book tour in Curacao was an “overwhelming success,” said Edgar Lynch.
“The signing ceremony at Van Dorp Eddine Promenade was attended by many highly placed persons and politicians such as former chairman of Parliament Onofre Bikker, Senator Omara Leeflang, Dr. Mac Kibbelaar, and chief court recorder Roberto Ribeiro.
“We would like to thank Bright Ideas for the wonderful promotion,” said Lynch. Complimentary copies were presented to Prime Minister Miguel Pourier and to the Lt. Governor of Curacao. The authors appeared on radio stations Z-86 and 100.3 FM. They are now looking into the possibility of promotional trips to Saba, Aruba, and Bonaire for the book that chronicles 50 years of elections in St. Martin (South) with key references to Aruba, Bonaire, Saba, and St. Eustatius.
According to Lynch, “arrangements are also being finalized for the book to be purchased on-line.” Once on the Internet, Know Your Political History will join other St. Martin books that can be accessed in cyber space such as The Rainy Season by Drisana Jack and National Symbols of St. Martin.
