GREAT BAY, St. Martin (May 29 2005)Ever wonder how video games are designed? Ever wanted a career as a concept artist?

What about having a clients’ list and portfolio that include projects for Xbox, Xbox 2, War of the Rings (Lord of the Rings game), Marvel Comics, MTV, and Rug-Rats?

Well, Alcy “RC” Montesquieu has to do with all of the above and more. He will also lead the Illustrator/concept artist workshop at the St. Martin Book Fair on Saturday, June 4, at the University of St. Martin.

Montesquieu is a concept artist at Pandemic Studios in Van Nuys, near Hollywood, California.

“We are looking forward to see youngsters and adults at RC’s workshop on Saturday at the University of St. Martin.

“RC will show video clips of his work and talk about his professional experiences,” said Shujah Reiph, the Book Fair coordinator.

“He will have posters to sell, and a few free project samples for the first set of people who come to the workshop.”

Montesquieu is currently working on projects for Xbox and Xbox 2.

As a concept artist, he has designed characters, vehicles, buildings, and graphic interface menus for the Full Spectrum Warrior video game for Xbox and PC.

Between 2001 and 2003, he worked at Liquid Entertainment as a concept artist/3D modeler/texture artist/animator, and created Low-Poly game art from concept to animation video games such as Battle RealmsWinter of the Wolf (Expansion) and War of the Rings (Lord of the Rings game).

His illustration and design jobs clients-list include Florida Panthers Hockey Team, MTV, Murals, BattleTech, Rug-Rats, Marvel Comics and Image Comics.

This will be RC’s first visit to St. Martin. But the commercial art graduate of the International Fine Arts College (IFAC) has long heard about the island from his St. Martin friends and colleagues who he met at IFAC, such as Angelo Rombley. He is no stranger to the Caribbean. Born in New York and proud of his “Caribbean blood,” Alcy “RC” Montesquieu’s parents are from the Dominican Republic.
